Mercantour National Park Walking Holidays

The Mercantour is the last high range before the Alps meet the Mediterranean, and the only French national park with habitats running from alpine to Mediterranean. Seven summits pass 3,000m and more than a hundred lakes sit among them. The Vallee des Merveilles holds thousands of Bronze Age rock engravings. Ibex, chamois and marmots are common, and the GR5 and GR52 cross the park on their way down to the coast.
