The Tarn Walking Holidays

In south-west France the Tarn is bastide country. Puycelsi, Penne, Castelnau-de-Montmiral, Bruniquel and Cordes-sur-Ciel sit on rocky spurs above a mix of vineyards, chalk plateaux, oak forest and deep gorges. The Gresigne forest brings deer, wild boar and birds of prey in autumn and orchids in spring. Truffles, duck and local wines make the meals, and far fewer visitors come here than to Provence.
